In a startling revelation, Jack Smith, a key figure in the Biden regime, has admitted to potential evidence tampering concerning classified documents linked to a case involving former President Donald Trump. Smith’s acknowledgment surfaced in response to a plea from Trump’s legal team, who cited complications in tracing the origins of certain documents. The FBI had seized 33 boxes of materials during a search at Mar-a-Lago in August 2022.
Initially, prosecutors assured U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon that the seized boxes remained untouched. However, a recent disclosure reveals discrepancies in the sequence of items compared to previously provided information. The government conceded, “There are some boxes where the order of items is not as in the associated scans.”
Trump’s defense intends to argue that these documents were meticulously arranged in chronological order within the White House before Trump’s receipt. They posit that staff members, unaware of their classified nature, packed and dispatched them to Mar-a-Lago.
Harvard Law Professor Emeritus Alan Dershowitz emphasized the gravity of evidence integrity, stating, “Prosecutors and investigators should never tamper with or alter evidence in their possession, including the order of documents in a box because one never knows what may become relevant or crucial to a court or jury later in a case,” as reported by Just the News.
The legal battle surrounding Trump’s classified documents is slated to commence on May 20. Both sides acknowledge the potential need for an extension before court proceedings can unfold.
