Democrats tried and failed, to force through Joe Biden’s election overhaul bill, which would have federalized elections and made it easier for voter fraud to occur.
Chuck Schumer attempted to use the “nuclear option” to get around the 60 vote filibuster, which would have only taken 50 votes to do, but Democrat senators Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema voted with all 50 Republicans to kill Schumer’s gambit once and for all, 48-52.
Joe Manchin said: “Allowing one party to exert complete control in the Senate with only a simple majority will only pour fuel on the fire of political whiplash and dysfunction that is tearing this nation apart.”
Biden immediately released a statement afterward, saying, “I am profoundly disappointed that the United States Senate has failed to stand up for our democracy.”
