One of the largest-ever migrant caravans just departed the Guatemala/Mexico border and is headed toward the United States.

Dig deeper: The caravan currently has over 11,000 migrants and is expected to grow to more than 15,000 as it makes its way toward the U.S.

Many of the migrants come from Venezuela, Cuba, Nicaragua, Haiti, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, India, Bangladesh, and several African nations.

Back up: Last month, 232,628 illegal immigrants were apprehended crossing our southern border. That’s the highest number in 23 years.

One migrant told Fox News: “He will recall Title 42. He will help us have real asylum.”

Title 42: The migrant is right. This chaos is unfolding as Biden fights in court to remove Title 42, the Trump-era immigration rule that allowed border agents to quickly send migrants back across the border.

The Department of Homeland Security says they expect up to 18,000 illegals per day once Title 42 is lifted.

That would mean roughly 540,000 illegal immigrants entering the country every month.

Zoom out: The caravan began its journey on the same day that Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador announced he would be boycotting Joe Biden’s Summit of the Americas taking place in Los Angeles this week, citing the exclusion of Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua from the event.

Steve Cortes, the former Trump Campaign Advisor, nailed the untold story in all of this:

“Who is benefitting within Mexico? The cartels. This is a boon for the cartels like they have never seen before because trafficking people is even more lucrative than trafficking in narcotics.”
