New York City mayor Eric Adams is sounding the alarm that his city’s homeless shelters are being overrun with illegal immigrants seeking asylum inside his sanctuary city, blaming Texas and Arizona for bussing them to his blue state. Nearly 3,000 illegals have arrived in NYC. and growing.

NYC mayor Adams complained: “This is a real burden on New Yorkers as we’re trying to do the right thing. We already have an overburdened shelter system. So now we’re talking about food, clothing, school.” He added that illegals were “arriving on buses sent by the Texas and Arizona governments.”

Back up: Texas and Arizona, two border states that bear the brunt of Joe Biden’s open border policies, have begun state-funded programs that take illegal aliens and bus them to blue cities like Washington D.C. and New York City.

Hypocrisy on display: Last summer, Adams was singing a different tune, tweeting that:

“New York City is, and has always been, a City of immigrants. We are a destination for diversity and a place where people from every nation seek refuge, raise families, and enrich our communities. Under my administration, our government will reflect that.”

Big picture: New York isn’t the only blue city that’s reaping what they sow. D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser complained recently:

“This is a very significant issue. We have for sure called on the federal government to work across state lines to prevent people from really being tricked into getting on buses.”

I love it. Democrats are all for open borders until the illegals end up on their doorstep.
