DONALD TRUMP VS ESPIONAGE ACT
As most know Former President Donald Trump was informed by the Biden regime that he has been indicted on charges related to documents kept at his Mar-a-Lago home after he left office.
All of the charges brought against Trump are centered around the Espionage Act. Trump’s legal team will argue that the Presidential Records Act supersedes the former.
Note that Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Mike Pence, and Joe Biden have all been found to have classified documents after leaving office and have never been charged with crimes.
In 1917, Congress passed the Espionage Act – the law currently being used by the Biden regime to target former President Donald Trump.
Let’s dive into the history of the act and as you read, consider… does this sound like it was meant for a dispute over a president’s documents?
The Espionage Act of 1917 was created in the throes of World War I with the intent of safeguarding national security and combating enemy spies. It criminalizes a range of activities—treason, interference with military operations, and aiding America’s adversaries during wartime. The Act was designed as a robust line of defense against foreign disruptions, granting the government greater powers to suppress dissension during periods of conflict.
Here’s the catch: The law’s broad scope and somewhat vague language have given way to criticism and concerns that it could be used as a political weapon. Critics suggest that the Act’s ambiguous definitions of “espionage” and “aiding the enemy” could be maneuvered to stifle dissent and target individuals or organizations deemed threatening by the powers that be.
Trump broke the news on Truth Social, writing [I’ve trimmed these for brevity]:
“The corrupt Biden Administration has informed my attorneys that I have been Indicted, seemingly over the Boxes Hoax…”
“…I never thought it possible that such a thing could happen to a former President of the United States, who received far more votes than any sitting President in the History of our Country, and is currently leading, by far, all Candidates, both Democrat and Republican, in Polls of the 2024 Presidential Election. I AM AN INNOCENT MAN!”
“This is indeed a DARK DAY for the United States of America. We are a Country in serious and rapid Decline, but together we will Make America Great Again!”
The charges: According to a report from ABC News, the Department of Justice (DOJ) will hit Trump with at least seven charges which include:
willful retention of national defense information
conspiracy to obstruct justice
withholding a document or record
corruptly concealing a document or record
concealing a document in a federal investigation
scheme to conceal
false statements/representations
All of these charges are over documents he has securely stored with 24-7 Secret Service protection. If successfully charged, Trump would die in prison.

Reactions: A range of politicians and media figures reacted to the news:
Ron DeSantis: “The weaponization of federal law enforcement represents a mortal threat to a free society… Why so zealous in pursuing Trump yet so passive about Hillary or Hunter?”
Elon Musk: “There does seem to be far higher interest in pursuing Trump compared to other people in politics.”
Alan Dershowitz [a liberal lawyer]: “Do you know how serious that is? When you have one administration (Biden) criminalizing the actions of the person (Trump) who threatens to un-do the administration…”
Rep. Jim Jordan: “Sad day for America. God Bless President Trump.”
Mark Levin: “This is a disgusting, disgusting mark on American history… by these bandits in the White House.”
Vivek Ramaswamy: one of Trump’s 2024 GOP challengers, spoke outside the courthouse in support of the former President and challenged all of the GOP candidates to sign a pledge to pardon Trump [if he’s charged] and if one of them is elected president.
Coincidence? This indictment against Trump happened on the same day that Congress was given access to the long-sought-after FBI documents that prove how Joe Biden received $5 million from Ukraine in exchange for favorable policy decisions.
The bottom line: Trump kept boxes of his own presidential records. He didn’t share them with America’s enemies. He wasn’t using them to interfere with military operations. Does it sound like this law is being used with its original intent?
