Today, the global atmosphere is tense following a call from Hamas leadership for a worldwide day of jihad, coincidentally falling on Friday the 13th. In a video statement released by Khaled Meshaal, who led Hamas from 1992 to 2012, Muslims are urged to express anger and send a message of rage to Zionists and America. Meshaal emphasizes the moment for the application of jihad, directing his message particularly to scholars teaching and learning about jihad.
The overarching concern stems from the possibility of jihadist sleeper cells entering the U.S. through the open southern border. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) data reveals a significant increase in the number of individuals on the FBI’s terror watch list since Joe Biden assumed office:
