JOE BIDEN LIES FOR 73 MINUTES WITHOUT TAKING A NAP DURING HIS STATE OF THE UNION SPEECH
Biden lies through his dentures for 73 minutes
Joe Biden delivered his second State of the Union address, and let’s just sum it up in one word: lies.
Let’s debunk some of the biggest lies Biden told during his speech:
🤥 “We have created…12 million new jobs. More jobs created in two years than any president has created in four years.”
This can be debunked with third-grade-level math. When businesses shut down due to the covid pandemic, we artificially lost 22 million jobs.
By the time Trump left office, as the economy slowly re-opened, 12.5 million people returned to work.
So the “12 million new jobs” added under Biden were mostly made up of the 10 million people still waiting to re-enter the workforce.
There’s a big difference between “new jobs” and people returning to work after shutting down the economy.
🤥 “Here at home, gas prices are down $1.50 from their peak.”
While technically true, they’re down from the historic average highs of $5.01 per gallon [thanks to Biden’s policies] over the summer…
Gas prices are currently $3.44 per gallon, still more than a dollar higher than when Biden took office.
🤥 “Inflation has fallen every month for the last six months while take-home pay has gone up.”
He managed to fit two misleading lies into one sentence.
While inflation has technically fallen to 6.5% [still historically high] in December from its 9.1% peak in June, it’s misleading to boast that it’s falling, because when Biden entered office inflation was 1.4%.
Take-home pay also has technically gone up. But it’s being out-paced by the rate of inflation. Under Biden, real wages [wage increase % minus inflation %] have been negative for 21 straight months.
🤥 “We capped the cost of insulin at $35 a month for seniors on Medicare.”
Trump did this. But on day one, Biden delayed it for two years and then took credit for it.
In May 2020, Trump announced his plan to cap insulin at $35 per month for seniors.
On December 23 he finalized the rule.
When Biden took office, he delayed the implementation twice, before it was eventually rolled out in 2022.
🤥 “Some Republicans, want Medicare and Social Security to sunset.”
This is not true. But Democrats keep repeating it to score political points.
Remember Speaker McCarthy said: “Cuts to medicare and social security, they’re off the table.”
This lie led to Republicans in the chamber shouting Biden down during his speech.
🤥 “Unlawful migration from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela has come down 97%”
This might be technically true, but only because Biden recently rolled out a program where illegal aliens from these four countries can sign up for a program to enter the U.S. legally.
So they’re still entering the U.S. They’re just no longer “unlawful.”
…there were dozens more, but this is supposed to be a short morning newsletter. So we’ll leave it at that.
Biden did tell one truth that’s worth highlighting: “The Inflation Reduction Act is also the most significant investment ever in climate change. Ever.”
Of course, we pointed that out at the time, despite the bill being sold to Americans as a means to “reduce inflation.”
But Biden finally admitted the truth… It was essentially the Green New Deal.
Let’s give Biden credit for one thing… He made it through the 73-minute speech without falling asleep or soiling himself.
