Sarah Palin Blasts Capitol Riot Sentences and Highlights Concerns of Two-Tiered Justice System

Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin didn’t hold back as she expressed her deep concerns over the sentences recently handed down to participants in the January 6, 2021 Capitol riots. In a fiery interview on Newsmax, Palin argued that these sentences underscored the existence of a troubling two-tiered justice system in America.

Host Eric Bolling expressed his astonishment at the lengthy prison terms given to defendants like Zachary Rehl, Joe Biggs, and Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes. These sentences, ranging from 15 to 18 years, were for nonviolent crimes. Bolling asked Palin for her perspective on the matter, particularly in light of the left-leaning bias apparent in these cases.

Governor Palin responded with a mix of dismay and conviction, stating:

“It is incredibly disheartening, Eric, to witness the examples you’ve just provided. It goes beyond simply eroding faith in our government; it shatters it, and that’s an understatement. Regrettably, when we see instances like the ones you’ve mentioned, where a two-tier justice system appears to operate based on political affiliations, it can lead law-abiding citizens to question the value of doing the right thing. It creates a feeling that we are being unfairly targeted and persecuted under this system. However, we must not succumb to a sense of helplessness and despair.”

Palin stressed the importance of recognizing the balance of power among the three branches of government, asserting that conservatives should remember the significant role Congress plays in shaping the direction of the judiciary.

She issued a stern warning, saying, “Congress cannot afford to remain passive, particularly when Republicans hold the majority in certain areas. Eric, they must not stand idly by and allow all of this to transpire, as it threatens to dismantle our traditional judicial system.”
