The American spirit is spiraling according to a recent poll that shows steep declines in patriotism, religious faith, desire to have children, and more.

Details on the poll: The poll was done by The Wall Street Journal. It surveyed 1,019 U.S. adults between March 1 – 13.

The poll presented values that are quintessential to the “American character” and asked if the respondents considered them “very important.” Here’s how their answers stack up to responses from 25 years ago:

🇺🇸 Patriotism: 38% – down from 70%
🛐 Religion: 39% – down from 62%
🤰 Having children: 30% – down from 59%
🏘️ Community involvement: 27% – down from 47%
💵 Money: 43% – up from 31%

The only category to go up was the desire to make money…
