Take everything you thought you knew about the demographics of the Republican and Democrat parties and throw it in the trash.

The great political realignment: New data is showing that the Republican party has become more of a multicultural working-class party, while the Democrat party is becoming a party for white elites.

Here’s what the numbers say:

According to a recent New York Times poll:

Among hispanic voters, in 2018 Democrats held a 47-point advantage over Republicans.

Today the parties are tied.

Non-hispanic, non-black minorities prefer Republicans by a margin of 39% to 34%

White, college-educated women meanwhile have shifted blue. The poll shows Democrats hold a 34-point lead with this demographic, up from 10 points in 2010.

The poll found very little shift in the black vote. [But I’d bet that if it were broken down by gender, we’d see a shift towards GOP from black males.]

Related: According to voter registration data, 1 million voters switched to the Republican Party over the past year. Meanwhile, 630,000 became Democrats.

Big picture: For the last two decades, Democrats have taken the minority vote for granted, assuming they’d go along with their progressive policies on gender, open borders, and socialism.

Left-wing news outlet Axios admits: “Even small inroads with Hispanic voters could tip a number of Democratic-held swing seats to the GOP.”

Former Trump Chief Strategist Steve Bannon summed it up best: “The white, college-educated soy-boys and Karens, the ANTIFA crowd… You can have it.”

This shift might feel like it happened overnight, but it really began in 2016 with Donald Trump. His populist, pro-America policies pulled the Republican party out of the country club and brought it to the backyard bbq.
