Trump Accuses Jan. 6 Committee of Evidence Tampering and Bias
Donald Trump did not mince words when addressing the Jan. 6 House select committee, a body he views as politically biased and improperly handling evidence, in his recent social media outburst.
On Truth Social, Trump expressed his concerns, asserting that “Deranged Jack Smith” should redirect his investigative efforts towards scrutinizing the partisan nature of the January 6th Unselect Committee. According to Trump, this committee stands accused of tampering with, deleting, and destroying confidential, classified documents, images, recordings, evidence, and other vital information.
In Trump’s view, the January 6th Committee is far from impartial; he labeled its members as “political hacks and thugs.” Trump alleges that they have engaged in the disturbing act of wiping clean any traces of evidence related to their relentless persecution and animosity towards him.
Trump’s assertions extend further, deeming these actions as highly illegal. He believes that part of their motive is to shield House Speaker Nancy Pelosi from accountability for what he characterizes as her inept or possibly deliberate mismanagement of security measures during the Capitol events—a responsibility she bore. Trump contends that this obliteration of evidence is a criminal act, further fanning the flames of controversy.
For those interested in examining the findings of the Jan. 6 House select committee, they are available to the public online, enabling everyone to draw their own conclusions.
