Florida’s Department of Education (DOE) has released examples of critical race theory (CRT) in the math textbooks that it rejected earlier this week.

Back up: Earlier this week, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced that the state had rejected 41% of math textbooks because they included CRT, Common Core, and unsolicited addition of Social Emotional Learning.

The examples: Due to copyright issues, the Florida DOE could not release their full “exhaustive list” but said they could release the following examples because they “presented no conflict in sharing them.”

Here’s what they could share:

The above example shows students a bar graph that measures racial prejudice by age and political identification. The graph suggests that Republicans are more racist than Democrats. Making it worse, the data the textbook cites has been debunked by the National Library of Medicine saying there is “no evidence” that the test accurately “measure[s] implicit constructs.”

This example uses the same debunked ‘Implicit Associate Test’ we talked about above. And it tells students that racial bias “among groups, by age and by political identification, are intriguing.”
