“Bidenomics” Faces Backlash in Key Swing States as Voters Lean Towards Trump
In a recent poll conducted by Morning Consult, not typically known for its Trump-friendly stance, results indicate that former President Donald Trump is gaining traction over Joe Biden in critical swing states. The numbers reveal a shifting sentiment among voters, with “Bidenomics” being a major factor propelling them towards the GOP front-runner.
The breakdown of the poll highlights Trump’s lead in five out of seven key swing states:
– Arizona: Trump +4
– Georgia: Trump +5
– Pennsylvania: Trump +1
– Wisconsin: Trump +2
– Michigan: Tie
– North Carolina: Trump +4
– Nevada: Biden -3
Florida, once considered a swing state, has veered so far to the right that it no longer fits the classification.
A notable statistic from the poll shows that only 26% of respondents believe “Bidenomics” is beneficial for the U.S. economy, while a substantial 49% view the policy as detrimental.
The Economy Factor: The majority of swing-state voters, at 51%, perceive that the national economy performed better during the Trump era. Furthermore, Trump outshines Biden in economic trust, leading 49% to 35%.
Beyond Economics: Trump’s appeal extends beyond economic considerations. He surpasses Biden on crucial issues such as immigration, infrastructure, U.S.-China relations, and the Ukraine conflict. Even after Biden’s passage of the bipartisan “infrastructure” bill, Trump maintains a 42% to 38% advantage on infrastructure management in these swing states.
Zooming Out: While acknowledging that polls capture a moment in time, these current results portray a clear trend. As of now, swing state voters, pivotal in determining the outcome of the 2024 election, are signaling a rejection of Joe Biden and his economic policies.
