Biden’s DOJ Incarcerates “Praying Grandma” for Capitol Walk
A Colorado resident, dubbed the “praying grandma,” has been slapped with an egregious sentence by the Biden Department of Justice for merely engaging in peaceful activity at the Capitol. Rebecca Lavrenz, a 71-year-old proprietor of a bed and breakfast establishment in Colorado Springs, now faces a minimum of one year behind bars and exorbitant fines surpassing $200,000.
So, who exactly is this “praying grandma”? Lavrenz, known for her devout faith, found herself ensnared in the clutches of legal persecution after participating in a prayerful gathering outside the Capitol on January 6.
What transpired on that fateful day? Lavrenz, along with a group of fellow believers, spent over an hour engaged in prayerful observance. Subsequently, she briefly ventured into the Capitol premises, where she lingered for a mere ten minutes before exiting. “I didn’t say anything, I didn’t shout or wave. I didn’t see any violence when I was in the Capitol, and there was no damage,” Lavrenz attests.
Yet, despite her nonviolent conduct, the Biden DOJ chose to wield the full force of the law against her, levying a barrage of charges, including entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds, disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds, disorderly conduct in a Capitol Building, and parading, demonstrating, or picketing in a Capitol Building.
This harsh crackdown is part and parcel of Biden’s relentless crusade against January 6 participants. Earlier this year, the Biden administration proudly announced that over 1,265 defendants, spanning across nearly all 50 states, have faced charges related to the events of that day.
In the grand scheme of things, this punitive action against Lavrenz and others underscores the Biden administration’s fervent commitment to suppress dissent and stifle political opposition. Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump has pledged to champion the cause of those incarcerated for their involvement in the January 6 protests, vowing to “free the J6 hostages” if elected.
The last word goes to Raheem Kassam, editor-in-chief of the National Pulse, who characterized this prosecution perfectly: “Only illegitimate regimes behave like this.”
