BIG NIGHT FOR #MAGA

Five states went to the polls to vote in primary elections for this year’s midterm races. And Trump-backed, America-first candidates won big – ending the political careers of some of Trump’s biggest enemies.

Arizona:

The governor’s race was the biggest of the night. And as I write this article, it’s still technically undecided. But Trump-endorsed Kari Lake (46.2%) is currently leading the RINO, Mike Pence-backed candidate, Karrin Taylor Robson (44.4%).

In the Senate race, Trump-endorsed Blake Masters easily won his race, defeating Mark Brnovich, the state’s Attorney General who fought hard against the state’s 2020 election audit efforts. Masters will face off against the sitting senator, Mark Kelly, this November.

Worth mentioning:

Mark Finchem, a pro-MAGA patriot who was a key figure in Arizona’s 2020 ballot audit, easily won the Republican primary for Secretary of State.

Rusty Bowers, another thorn in the side of the Arizona audit, lost his state senate seat.

Incumbent GOP Rep. Paul Gosar won his primary easily.

Michigan:

The governor’s race: Trump-endorsed Tudor Dixon easily defeated her opponent, Kevin Rinke, who days earlier tried to downplay the former president’s endorsement. Dixon will face off against current Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.

3rd District House seat: Trump-endorsed John Gibbs defeated the incumbent Congressman, Peter Meijer. Meijer was one of the 10 Republicans who voted with Democrats to impeach Trump.

On Truth Social, Trump posted: “Not a good time for Impeachers – 7 down, 3 to go!”

Kansas:

The governor’s race: Derek Schmidt [you guessed it… Trump-endorsed] wallopped his challenger and will face off against the incumbent Democrat Gov. Laura Kelly. It’s worth noting that Trump won this state by 15% in 2020, so there’s a good chance of flipping the governorship.

Abortion: In one of the most closely watched votes of election night, Kansans voted on whether the state constitution should be amended to remove protections for abortion rights.

59% voted: No

41% voted: Yes

Missouri:

In the Senate race: “ERIC” won. Two Republican candidates named Eric (Eric Schmitt and Eric Greitens) were lobbying for the Trump endorsement in Missouri, and apparently, Trump couldn’t decide so he posted this endorsement on Truth Social: “ERIC has my Complete and Total Endorsement!” Eric Schmitt won.

Washington (state):

This is a pretty blue state that Biden won by almost 20% in 2020. But two races to watch, which are still undecided are for the 3rd and 4th District House seats. Both seats are held by Republicans (Jamie Herrera Beutler and Dan Newhouse) who voted to impeach Trump. Neither race has been called yet, with roughly 50% of the vote in.
