Who Do You Trust To Lead This Nation Then?
The suburbs of Colorado are facing a severe and growing threat from the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua, which has become increasingly active in the United States. This gang, known for its involvement in heinous crimes such as drug trafficking, human trafficking, kidnapping, and murder, has managed to establish a foothold in American communities, bringing violence and fear to areas that were once considered safe.
One of the most alarming incidents recently came to light through a viral video showing heavily armed members of Tren de Aragua storming an apartment complex in Aurora, Colorado. This brazen act of aggression has drawn widespread attention and concern, highlighting the gang’s growing influence and the inability of local law enforcement to effectively combat this threat.
Aurora City Council member Danielle Jurinsky has been vocal about the situation, describing how parts of the city are now under the control of this violent gang. Jurinsky stated in an interview with Fox News, “We currently have entire complexes under gang control — complexes where staff have been beaten up, they’ve been threatened, their families have been threatened.” She continued, “These complexes are being run by this Tren de Aragua gang… Parts of the city are absolutely under this gang’s control.” Jurinsky’s stark warning sheds light on the severity of the issue, which she argues has been downplayed by local media.
Aurora’s situation is exacerbated by its proximity to Denver, a sanctuary city that may inadvertently provide a safe haven for criminals due to its policies. Denver’s approach to immigration enforcement creates challenges for neighboring areas like Aurora, where the presence of violent gangs like Tren de Aragua is becoming increasingly problematic.
The rise of Tren de Aragua and other similar gangs in the United States is directly linked to the border policies enacted by the current administration. Since President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris took office, over 12.5 million illegal immigrants have crossed into the United States. Among these, a significant number have been associated with criminal organizations, including Tren de Aragua, which has thrived under what critics describe as lax border enforcement. These policies have been referred to as a “red carpet” for criminals, allowing dangerous individuals to enter and operate within the country with relative ease.
This is not the only controversy surrounding Vice President Harris. Her recent actions and statements have sparked further criticism. In her first major interview since assuming the role of presidential candidate, Harris failed to address critical issues such as inflation, which was mentioned 14 times by former President Donald Trump at the Republican National Convention but was completely absent from her remarks at the Democratic National Convention. The omission of such a crucial topic raises questions about Harris’s priorities and her ability to address the pressing economic concerns facing the nation.
Adding to this is Harris’s inconsistent stance on key issues. For instance, her campaign recently claimed that she opposes an electric vehicle mandate, despite her strong support for the idea during her time in the Senate. This flip-flop has led to doubts about her reliability and commitment to policy positions. Furthermore, the National Association of Police Organizations has demanded an apology from Harris after she compared police work to slavery, a statement that many found deeply offensive and out of touch with the realities of law enforcement.
In contrast, Donald Trump’s messaging at the RNC focused on positive themes, with his most commonly used words being “love” and “jobs,” reflecting his emphasis on unity and economic growth. Harris, on the other hand, used “mother” and “freedom” as her key terms at the DNC, but her broader policy agenda remains unclear, especially in the face of rising crime and economic instability.
Meanwhile, the economic landscape continues to evolve, with significant developments such as Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway reaching a market capitalization of $1 trillion, a milestone that highlights the strength of the U.S. economy despite the challenges it faces. On the corporate front, Phillip Morris is investing $232 million to expand a Kentucky factory to produce Zyn nicotine pouches, signaling ongoing business growth even as the country grapples with social and political issues.
However, these economic achievements are overshadowed by the alarming security concerns highlighted by the surge in illegal immigration and the associated rise in crime. In San Diego, for example, illegal aliens attempted to hijack school buses filled with elementary school students, blocking a roadway and surrounding the vehicles. This incident underscores the immediate dangers posed by the failure to secure the nation’s borders and the potential risks to public safety.
In his forthcoming book, Donald Trump issued a stark warning to Mark Zuckerberg, stating that if the Facebook founder “does anything illegal” in the 2024 election, “he will spend the rest of his life in prison.” This comment reflects the ongoing tensions surrounding election integrity and the role of big tech in shaping political outcomes.
Adding to the nation’s challenges, Florida has reported 30 cases of ‘Sloth Fever,’ a potentially deadly disease transmitted by mosquitoes. The cases were discovered among travelers linked to Cuba, raising concerns about the spread of tropical diseases within the United States.
As we reflect on these developments, it is clear that our Constitutional Republic is facing significant challenges. The surge in crime, fueled by weak border policies, threatens the safety and security of communities across the nation. The actions and statements of our leaders must be scrutinized and held accountable to ensure that the principles of law and order are upheld and that the American people are protected.
**Opinion Note:** The assertion that the Biden-Harris administration’s border policies have provided a “red carpet” for criminals is an opinion based on the interpretation of immigration data and the rise in gang-related crime. While there is factual evidence linking increased illegal immigration to higher crime rates, the specific language used reflects a particular viewpoint. The omission of inflation from Kamala Harris’s interview is a fact, but its interpretation as a failure to address economic concerns is an opinion.
