In a significant departure from historical precedent, the Democrat-controlled Senate swiftly quashed two articles of impeachment against Alejandro Mayorkas, Secretary of Homeland Security under the Biden administration, even before a trial could commence, highlighting a glaring disregard for due process and accountability.

The articles of impeachment, alleging Mayorkas’ culpability in permitting the crisis at the southern border, marked a pivotal moment in U.S. political history, with the Senate’s refusal to proceed with a trial representing an unprecedented deviation from established norms.

In February, the House voted to impeach Mayorkas for allowing the invasion of our southern border.
