Dems try to censor RFK Jr at government censorship hearing
House Democrats tried to censor Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as he prepared to testify at a committee hearing on government censorship.
RFK Jr. was testifying before the House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, which is investigating collusion between the Biden regime and big tech companies.
RFK Jr. has been outspoken about his concerns with the Covid vaccine. When he questioned if the vaccine was linked to a rise in deaths for the elderly, the Biden regime e-mailed Twitter asking them to have it censored “ASAP.”
Censoring RFK Jr: Democrat Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz moved to censor RFK Jr. because he “repeatedly made despicable anti-Semitic and anti-Asian comments as recently as last week.”
Schultz is referring to comments Kennedy made, saying: “There is an argument that [COVID] is ethnically targeted. COVID-19 attacks certain races disproportionately. COVID-19 is targeted to attack Caucasians and black people. The people who are most immune are Ashkenazi Jews and Chinese. We don’t know whether it was deliberately targeted or not.”
RFK Jr. later explained that he was “describing an NIH-funded study by Cleveland Clinic Scientists.
The Democrats’ attempt to censor Kennedy was shot down when the GOP majority voted 10-8 to table it.
The irony: GOP Rep. Thomas Massie responded to the attempt at censoring RFK Jr, saying:
“Wow. The irony and cognitive dissonance from the other side of the aisle [is] deafening… This is a hearing on censorship that began with an effort with a formal motion from the other side of the aisle to censor Mr. Kennedy.”
The politics: RFK Jr. is challenging Joe Biden for the Democrat nomination in 2024, and is at nearly 20% in some polls. Democrats alleged Republicans asked him to testify in order to raise his profile and hurt Joe Biden. Which is fair, and probably somewhat true. But the party that spent 2 years running a January 6 show trial should get no sympathy.
