Divide the Nation: How Extremism Stole the People’s Voice
The Storm Before the Awakening
There is something burning in America tonight. It is not just outrage. It is not just politics. It is exhaustion.
We are tired of being divided.
We are tired of being lied to.
We are tired of being treated like pawns on a chessboard that we never agreed to play on.
Once upon a time, politics felt like it belonged to us. It was not perfect, but it was personal. It was the movement of workers, patriots, believers, dreamers, and yes, outsiders. Then came 2016. Donald Trump stood at the crossroads of a forgotten nation and reminded us that “We the People” still mattered. He was not just running against the Democrats. He was running against the entire establishment, and millions of Americans saw in him something real. Something worth fighting for.
People forget that in 2016 the Republican Party was not the same party it is now. It was filled with fire. It was filled with outsiders. It was a movement that welcomed everyone, including people like me, the founder of Gays for Trump. Because the real movement was never about division. It was about defiance. It was about standing up to a system that told us who we could be and what we were allowed to believe.
That year, America found its heartbeat again. But somewhere along the way, that rhythm broke. What once united us was replaced by fear, confusion, and outrage, manufactured and sold to us by the very same elites who swore they would never let another outsider win again.
The Party Forgot Who It Served
After the 2018 midterms and the chaos of 2020, both political parties made a quiet decision. Instead of returning power to the people, they returned to the comfort of division. They built walls of ideology instead of bridges of unity.
The far left turned to socialist policies wrapped in emotional slogans, parading around “equity” while bankrupting cities and rewriting history. The far right hid behind the veil of religion, claiming moral superiority while forgetting the foundation of our Republic, the Constitution itself.
You have seen it firsthand. I saw it when I spoke out about faith versus the Constitution. Instead of reason, I got outrage from a so-called pastor more interested in calling names than defending liberty. The same hypocrisy the left once used against conservatives now thrives on the right, weaponized by those pretending to defend God while ignoring the law of the land.
Republicans who once shouted “America First” started whispering again. The big tent that once fit everyone, gay conservatives, independent thinkers, and freedom-loving patriots, began to shrink.
Then came 2020. The so-called election of unity became the election of division. The political establishment, both left and right, worked overtime to make sure an outsider could never again rise the way Donald Trump did. The moment the people dared to believe in themselves, the system decided to break them apart.
After that, something darker took hold. Both sides turned extreme. The far right became obsessed with controlling personal morality instead of protecting liberty, while the far left turned radical, elevating self-proclaimed socialists and identity politicians. They even celebrated and elected a Socialist Muslim mayor in a city that once promised to “never forget,” only to forget the unity and loss of September 11.
We lost balance. We lost perspective. And now, we are losing the Republic.
We the People Became We the Problem
Our song said it best: When did “We the People” become “We the Problem?”
Our government no longer represents the factory worker, the small-town farmer, or the single parent struggling to make ends meet. It is run by donors, lobbyists, millionaires, and stockbrokers. The average American does not have a seat at the table anymore. We are the meal being served.
Manufactured outrage has become the new currency of politics. If they can divide you, they can control you. Fear sells. Outrage trends. And both sides cash in while the nation burns from the inside.
The Business of Fear and Outrage
Today, politics has become a marketplace for fear.
Confusion sells. Outrage trends. And both sides profit.
We are no longer governed. We are marketed to.
Every time a crisis breaks, whether it is real or manufactured, you can bet someone is fundraising off it before the dust even settles. The far left runs ads about saving democracy. The far right runs ads about saving Christianity. Neither side runs on saving the Republic itself.
Look at the billion-dollar Senate campaign in North Carolina. One billion dollars to represent a state full of hardworking families who can barely afford groceries, gas, or healthcare. Think about that. One billion dollars to win a job that pays less than two hundred thousand a year. That is not representation. That is corruption.
The media amplifies the division because chaos makes money. They tell us who to hate this week, what to fear next week, and who to blame after that. It is not journalism anymore. It is psychological warfare for profit.
And like my song says, “When did We the People become We the Problem?” That is the question burning at the center of this storm.
The Outsider Who Still Gets It
There is still one man who understands this movement. Donald Trump is not just a Republican. He is a reminder of what it means to be an American outsider. Someone who did not come from the political class, who did not owe the swamp a thing, and who still does not.
Trump was Go Right before Go Right was a movement. He looked at the broken system and said what we were all thinking. It is not working for us anymore. The same elites who mocked him mocked us. The same media that tried to silence him tried to erase us.
The Republican Party he helped rebuild sometimes does not even deserve his name anymore. Too many have forgotten that this was supposed to be a party of the people, not of power brokers. Too many forgot that this movement was never about one man. It was about a mission. It was about reclaiming a government that belongs to the governed.
Trump Was the Key, the People Were the Movement
Donald Trump was never just a Republican president. He was the first leader in decades who understood that the people were the real movement. He stood up against the political machine that feeds on division.
He did not just Go Right. He was Right because he put America first, and he did not care who that upset. That was the big tent Republican Party we once knew, a party that welcomed everyone, from Gays for Trump to working-class patriots who had never voted Republican before.
That unity scared the establishment more than anything. So they tore it apart piece by piece. They fed the far-left fear and the far-right anger. They let religion replace reason and ideology replace identity. And now here we are, a country divided not by values, but by manipulation.
The Signs Are in the Polls
Look at the data. Look at the trends. Voters are shifting. They are walking away from both parties. Independents, young conservatives, suburban families, and moderate Democrats are saying the same thing in poll after poll. They do not want the extremes anymore.
Voter registration numbers across the country show the same pattern. There is a slow, steady rise in unaffiliated voters who no longer trust either side. That is the quiet revolution happening beneath the noise. People are hungry for truth again. They are tired of political theater. They want leaders who care about results, not retweets.
Even among conservatives, support is growing for candidates who speak to common sense and compassion instead of blind outrage. They are rejecting the false choice between religion and reason, between compassion and Constitution. The people want both. They want their Republic back.
When the people move back toward the center of truth, away from the chaos of both extremes, that is when we win again. That is when we Go Right, not as a slogan, but as a mission to reclaim America from the swamp that exists on both sides.
It’s Time to Reignite the Flame
Our country does not need more parties. It needs more patriots. The left uses compassion as a weapon, and the right uses faith as a shield, while both sides ignore the one thing that holds this nation together: the Constitution of the United States.
If we are to survive, we must return to being citizens, not spectators. The Republic is worth saving, but it cannot be saved by cowards or zealots. It must be rebuilt by people who believe in freedom, who live in truth, and who refuse to be divided any longer.
We have been broken, manipulated, and misled. But liberty still burns, and that is the fire that no establishment can extinguish. It is time to Go Right. For unity. For liberty. For We the People.
The Fire That Still Burns
America is standing at a crossroads once again. One road leads deeper into division. The other leads back toward unity, truth, and the Constitution that started it all.
The song says, “No more left, no more right, just people trying to see the light.”
That is not a lyric. That is a lifeline.
Our Republic is worth saving, but it will not be saved by the same people who broke it.
The politicians will not fix it. The pundits will not fix it.
It will be fixed by you, the people who still believe that truth is sacred, that freedom is non-negotiable, and that unity comes not from blind loyalty but from moral clarity.
If the Constitution still matters, then we must fight for it again.
If freedom still matters, then we must defend it again.
And if America still matters, then it is time to Go Right again.
This movement is not about anger anymore. It is about awakening.
It is about rising above the noise, the lies, and the division.
We are not the problem.
We are the people.
And the fire that started in 2016 still burns in every one of us.
It is time to Go Right. For liberty. For truth. For the Republic that will not fall if the people stand tall.

Has America Been Hijacked by Its Own Extremes? The Truth, They Don’t Want You to Hear
#GoRight with Peter Boykin Commentary
Every time I look around this country, I see something that doesn’t look like the America we grew up believing in. It feels like we’ve been hijacked. Not by a foreign power or a shadowy enemy, but by our own extremes.
The far left and the far right are two sides of the same coin, and that coin is being flipped by the people who profit every time we hate each other. The media feeds the outrage. The politicians pocket the donations. The bureaucrats expand their control. And We the People are left with nothing but noise.
Both sides scream about saving America, but what they really want is to own it. The left preaches compassion but uses fear and division to push power. The right preaches freedom but uses morality to control it. Somewhere along the way, both forgot that this Republic was built on one idea, that the people rule the government, not the other way around.
We have allowed outrage to replace conversation and emotion to replace reason. You see it every election cycle. Manufactured crises, staged moral battles, politicians crying on cue while cashing checks from the same donors that fund both sides. And while they fight for headlines, your grocery bill rises, your paychecks shrink, and your rights are bartered away one distraction at a time.
When I wrote Divide the Nation, it wasn’t just a song, it was a warning. Because that is exactly what they are doing. They have turned division into a business model. If you are angry, you will click. If you are scared, you will donate. If you are confused, you will comply. They sell fear the way drug dealers sell addiction, and we keep coming back for another hit.
It is time to say enough.
The truth is, the extremes are killing the center, and the center is where the American people live. Most of us are not radicals. We are not out burning flags or banning books. We are trying to raise families, pay bills, protect our freedom, and live our lives without someone from Washington, Hollywood, or the pulpit telling us what we are allowed to believe.
I will be blunt. Both sides have betrayed us. The left sold us chaos dressed up as progress. The right traded principle for performance, replacing the Constitution with culture wars. And while they point fingers at each other, the same elite class that created this mess gets richer, louder, and more powerful.
You want proof? Look at what it costs to run for Senate in North Carolina. One billion dollars. A billion dollars for one seat. That is not a campaign. That is a buyout. That is not democracy. That is a country for sale.
Meanwhile, voters are waking up. Independents are leaving both parties. Younger conservatives are rejecting the politics of outrage. Americans are realizing what I have been saying for years. The future is not left or right. It is forward. It is about truth. It is about freedom. It is about remembering that we are the Republic, and the Republic belongs to us.
When did We the People become We the Problem? It happened when we stopped thinking for ourselves. When we let talking heads tell us what is right and what is wrong. When we let religion dictate law and ideology rewrite reality. But here is the good news. That fire that started in 2016, the one that said enough, that flame is not out. It is still burning. It is waiting for good people to stop being silent and start standing up again.
Because this movement, the #GoRight movement, is not about a party. It is about a principle. It is about reclaiming the conversation. It is about waking up a nation that has forgotten who really holds the power.
The Constitution is not a suggestion. It is the foundation. And if we do not fight for it now, we will not have to worry about losing elections. We will lose the Republic itself.
So let the politicians keep yelling. Let the media keep lying. Let the extremists keep playing their games. But we are done being pawns.
It is time to Go Right. Not just as voters, but as citizens. Not as partisans, but as patriots.
Because the future of America is not theirs to control. It is ours to reclaim.
