In less than two days, Trump has accumulated over 3.5 million followers on TikTok. For comparison, President Joe Biden, who has been on the platform for four months, has around 343,500 followers.

In 2020, Trump issued an executive order to ban TikTok, citing its ownership by the Chinese company ByteDance as a national security threat. This effort was blocked by the courts and did not proceed after Trump left office.
