HOUSE REPUBLICANS WILL FORCE RADICAL MANHATTAN DA TO TESTIFY
House Republican leadership sent a warning shot letter to the radical-leftist Manhattan DA who reportedly plans to arrest former President Donald Trump, claiming it would be an “unprecedented abuse of prosecutorial authority.”
The heads of three separate House committees sent the letter yesterday to Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, demanding communications, documents, and a transcribed interview. [‘request’ usually comes first. if denied, a subpoena follows]
The committees that issued the letter were:
House Judiciary, chaired by Rep. Jim Jordan
House Oversight, chaired by Rep. James Comer
House Administration, chaired by Rep. Bryan Steil
It was reported by several media outlets that Bragg plans to arrest former President Trump on dubious charges connected to a non-disclosure agreement payment back in 2016. Refer to https://gorightnews.com/donald-trump-to-be-arrested-for-the-lefts-crimes/ for the details.
The GOP chairmen’s letter states: “If these reports are accurate, your actions will erode confidence in the evenhanded application of justice and unalterably interfere in the course of the 2024 presidential election. In light of the serious consequences of your actions, we expect that you will testify about what plainly appears to be a politically motivated prosecutorial decision.”
Collusion with the Biden DOJ: The GOP chairmen wisely want to find out if this Manhattan DA is working in collusion with the Biden regime.
So they are asking for:
“All documents and communications between or among the New York County District Attorney’s Office and the U.S. Department of Justice, its component entities, or other federal law enforcement agencies referring or relating to your office’s investigation of President Donald Trump”
What happens next: If Bragg refuses to voluntarily comply with the House chairmen, they could issue a subpoena to compel him. But if he refuses, that would have to be enforced by the Department of Justice… which is overseen by Joe Biden and Attorney General Merrick Garland.
