Welcome to #GoRight with Peter Boykin. In our Constitutional Republic, transparency and accountability are essential, especially during election season. Yet, recent events suggest a growing tension between political figures, media, and even Big Tech, raising concerns about the future of our democracy. Let’s dive into some pressing stories that highlight these issues.
First up, Kamala Harris has agreed to participate in only one of the three debates proposed by Donald Trump. However, she’s now demanding significant changes to the rules of that single debate. Harris wants to eliminate muted microphones—despite her camp previously insisting on them—insist on both candidates being seated, and allow her to bring pre-written notes. These demands have sparked widespread criticism, including from Trump himself, who remarked, “The truth is they’re trying to get out of it because she doesn’t want to debate. She’s not a good debater. She’s not a smart person. She doesn’t want to debate.” This statement, while expressing Trump’s personal view, reflects a broader frustration among many who see these demands as an attempt to avoid a fair and open discussion on the policies that affect all Americans.
Now, before we get to the big news let’s look at some critical facts and headlines making waves across the country.
Facts
– Tulsi Gabbard, the former Democratic congresswoman from Hawaii, has officially endorsed Donald Trump for president. Gabbard, known for her independent views and criticism of the Democratic establishment, is throwing her support behind Trump, signaling a significant shift in political alliances.
– Kamala Harris has raised a staggering $540 million since launching her campaign. This massive war chest is a testament to her fundraising prowess, but it also raises questions about the influence of money in politics and how it might shape her campaign strategies moving forward.
– A significant 91% of Americans believe that e-cigarettes are harmful. This overwhelming consensus highlights the growing concern over vaping and its potential health risks, particularly among young people.
– According to recent polling, 55% of Americans want decreased immigration, while only 16% favor increasing it. This statistic underscores the ongoing debate over immigration policy, which remains a hot-button issue in our Constitutional Republic.
Headlines
– The Republican National Committee (RNC) is suing the city of Detroit after discovering that it hired seven times more Democrat poll workers than Republicans, in clear violation of state law. This lawsuit is crucial for ensuring election integrity, as an imbalance in poll workers could lead to biased handling of the voting process. The RNC’s action is a reminder that both parties must adhere to the principles of fairness and transparency in our elections.
– Donald Trump has made a bold pledge to stop the funding Kamala Harris is using for illegal alien shelters and redirect it towards homeless veterans. This move reflects Trump’s America First approach, emphasizing the need to prioritize resources for those who have served our nation. By reallocating funds to support homeless veterans, Trump is advocating for a group that has too often been overlooked by current policies.
– In a win for electoral fairness, Green Party candidate Jill Stein will remain on the Wisconsin ballot after the state Supreme Court declined efforts by Democrats to have her removed. This decision ensures that voters have access to a full range of candidates, reinforcing the democratic process.
– Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is reportedly pressuring House Republicans to drop their demand that the next short-term funding bill include a provision to crack down on illegal aliens voting. This has sparked significant controversy within the party, with many conservatives pushing back against McConnell’s stance. The internal debate reflects broader tensions over how best to address illegal voting without compromising on core Republican principles.
– Human brain samples collected at autopsy earlier this year contained more microplastics than samples collected eight years prior. This alarming finding highlights the growing environmental and health concerns surrounding plastic pollution, and the long-term impact it may have on human health.
– In consumer safety news, Walmart has recalled its Great Value brand apple juice sold in 25 states after harmful levels of inorganic arsenic were discovered. This recall serves as a reminder of the importance of rigorous safety standards in the food industry to protect public health.
– California lawmakers are nearing approval of a controversial bill that would give illegal aliens up to $150,000 in state-supported home loans. This proposal has sparked intense debate, with opponents arguing that it unfairly prioritizes non-citizens over law-abiding taxpayers, while supporters see it as a step towards providing housing stability for all residents.
– Democrat Representative Jon Tester has refused to endorse Kamala Harris as he faces a tough re-election back home in Montana. Tester’s hesitation speaks to the growing divide within the Democratic Party, as more moderate members distance themselves from the Biden-Harris administration.
– A shocking new report reveals that almost two-thirds of baby foods sold in U.S. grocery stores do not meet nutritional requirements defined by the World Health Organization (WHO). This revelation raises serious concerns about the quality and safety of food products marketed to the most vulnerable among us—our children.
– Subway, the once-popular sandwich chain, is cutting prices to $6.99 for its footlong subs, a significant reduction from the $10-14 they now charge. However, this discount is only available for two weeks as the company struggles to attract customers burdened by inflation. This limited-time offer reflects the broader economic challenges facing businesses and consumers alike.
Zuck regrets censoring for Biden and Harris
In another critical development, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has admitted in a letter to Congress that the Biden-Harris administration pressured his company to censor content, including COVID-19 humor and satire. Zuckerberg revealed, “[The Biden-Harris regime] repeatedly pressured our teams for months to censor certain COVID-19 content, including humor and satire.” He went on to express regret, saying, “I believe the government pressure was wrong, and I regret that we were not more outspoken about it.” Zuckerberg’s candid admission underscores the growing tension between Big Tech and government overreach, and raises important questions about free speech in our Constitutional Republic.
Zuckerberg’s revelations are particularly concerning when considering his past actions. In 2020, he donated $400 million to get-out-the-vote efforts, primarily in Democrat parts of the country, raising eyebrows about potential partisan bias. However, he now claims to have undergone a personal transformation, vowing to keep his money out of the 2024 election and to “push back” if the Biden-Harris administration tries to coerce his platforms into censoring content again. This shift in stance is a welcome change, but it remains to be seen how it will play out in the coming election cycle.
Biden & Harris absent but Trump attends memorial for soldiers killed in Afghanistan withdrawal
Lastly, former President Donald Trump visited Arlington National Cemetery to honor the thirteen service members killed in the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan. This solemn event highlighted the devastating consequences of the Biden-Harris administration’s actions. Trump, joined by the families of Marine Sgt. Nicole Gee, Staff Sgt. Darin Hoover, and Army Staff Sgt. Ryan Knauss, as well as severely wounded Marines Tyler Vargas-Andrews and Kelsee Lainhart, paid his respects by laying wreaths at their graves. The absence of Biden and Harris from this memorial, despite having no other public events scheduled, was deeply felt and criticized. The White House issued statements on their behalf, but the lack of personal attendance sends a clear message about their priorities.
Rep. Michael Waltz, an Afghanistan war veteran, noted that “The families were just thrilled that President Trump spent so much time with them.” This personal attention contrasts sharply with the Biden-Harris administration’s approach, further fueling discontent among veterans and their families.
Trump didn’t mince words when he declared, “Caused by Kamala Harris, Joe Biden, the humiliation in Afghanistan set off the collapse of American credibility and respect all around the world… when I take office, I will ask for the resignations of every single senior official who touched the Afghanistan calamity to be on my desk at noon on Inauguration Day.” This powerful statement reflects Trump’s commitment to holding those responsible for the Afghanistan disaster accountable and restoring America’s standing on the global stage.
As we continue to navigate these turbulent times, it’s essential to stay informed and engaged. Our Constitutional Republic relies on the active participation of its citizens to uphold the principles of liberty and justice for all. I’m Peter Boykin, and this is #GoRight. Stay vigilant, stay informed, and keep fighting for the truth.
