LEAKED AUDIO OF CDC DIRECTOR ADMITTING SHE WON’T CHANGE SCHOOL MASK GUIDELINES

Audio has leaked from a closed-door meeting between Dr. Fauci, CDC Director Rochelle Walensky, and lawmakers. In the meeting, Walensky told lawmakers that the CDC has no plans to change the federal guidelines requiring students to wear masks in schools.

The CDC Director said: “The CDC provides guidance. Our guidance currently is that masking should happen in all schools right now.”

Bi-partisan anger: According to Reason, the outlet that obtained the audio, lawmakers on both sides of the aisle criticized the CDC’s mask guidance and challenged Walensky to explain why her guidance was out of step with the science on face masks.

On the attack: Republican Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers challenged Walensky, saying: “the [World Health Organization] and UNICEF have both recommended against masking for kids under the age of five because it’s going to do more harm than good. For children ages 6 to 11, they think that we should be considering other factors like learning and social development… Dr. Walensky, will you commit to updating your guidance by Friday to allow children in person without the burden of masks?”

…but Walensky would not commit.
