MAGA DOMINATES NEW HOUSE COMMITTEES

After a hard fight during the debate for House Speaker, MAGA conservatives are reaping the benefits of key House committee assignments in the 118th Congress, giving them even greater influence over upcoming legislation and criminal probes.

Note that Committee assignments are desirable slots for House members, that put them in positions of power to control the direction of the House.

The House Oversight Committee is a ‘check and balance on the role and power of Washington’ and will give approval for the forthcoming investigations of Joe Biden, Dr. Fauci, and others.

Speaker McCarthy added half a dozen #MAGA Republicans to this committee, including:

Reps. Byron Donalds, Paul Gosar, Scott Perry, Anna Paulina Luna, Lauren Boebert, and Marjorie Taylor Greene

All, except Greene, had initially voted “no” on McCarthy’s Speakership.

Taking the gavel: MAGA conservatives didn’t just score committee appointments – they are now running several committees:

Rep. Jim Jordan will be the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee

Rep. Mark Green will head the Homeland Security Committee

Rep. Andy Harris will head the House Appropriations subcommittee on agriculture

Other major committees will also get MAGA reinforcements, including:

The House Financial Services Committee will add Reps. Andy Ogles and Byron Donalds

The House Judiciary Committee will add Rep. Matt Gaetz

The House Appropriations Committee will add Reps Andrew Clyde and Michael Cloud

The House Homeland Security Committee will add Reps Eli Crane and Marjorie Taylor Greene
