The left’s dream of a Trump arrest may have hit a snag in Manhattan after new, explosive testimony could have derailed the entire case.
FIRST OFF: Just when you think you’ve seen peak Trump, the guy finds new ways to outdo himself.
According to a report in the NY Post, former President Trump says if he is indicted by the Manhattan DA, he’d prefer to make a “spectacle” of it and wants to be hauled into the court in handcuffs.
Personally, I think it’s brilliant. Walk in there like a straight gangster…
The week that Trump was to “be arrested” came and went and the highly anticipated arrest of Donald Trump never happened. In a turn of events, the Manhattan DA is now under investigation by the House GOP, while he claims it was Trump who gave the “false expectation” of his imminent arrest…
But I wouldn’t pop the victory champagne just yet. Fridays are usually when crooked politicians and scumbag law enforcement agencies usually do their dirty work… meanwhile Trump already started his 2024 campaign in Waco Tx
According to reports, former President Donald Trump was set to be arrested by the Soros-funded Manhattan District Attorney, Alvin Bragg on charges related to 2016 non-disclosure agreement payments to adult film actress Stormy Daniels.
The new details: Former federal prosecutor Robert Costello gave testimony, provided hundreds of pages of e-mails, and illustrated how Bragg’s main witness [disgruntled former Trump attorney Michael Cohen] was a serial liar and had no credibility.
At the time the “hush money” payments were made, Michael Cohen was Trump’s lawyer and personally paid Daniels $130,000. Trump reimbursed Cohen but the payments were listed as “legal fees.” Bragg’s charges allege they should have been labeled as “campaign fees.”
In his testimony, Costello told the jury that Cohen “couldn’t tell the truth if you put a gun to his head.”
Costello said he told the jury about a 2018 meeting he had with Cohen, where the former Trump lawyer claimed he made the decision “on his own” to pay Daniels himself and took out a ‘key lock loan’ to do it because he wanted to “keep this secret.”
Costello also revealed that he had given Bragg and his team over 300 e-mails related to Cohen but Bragg didn’t give the grand jury access to them. Instead, Bragg cherry-picked 6 e-mails to show the jury.
A newly surfaced letter from 2018 seems to back up what Costello is saying. In it, Cohen, himself tells Federal Election Commission that he: “used his own personal funds to facilitate a payment of $130,000 to Ms. Stephanie Clifford. Neither the Trump Organization nor the Trump campaign was a party to the transaction with Ms. Clifford, and neither reimbursed Mr. Cohen for the payment directly or indirectly.”
Democrat lawyer Alan Dershowitz told Fox News that Bragg now has two options:
“He can say, ‘alright, I’m going to try to make the case without Cohen.’ He cannot use Cohen as a witness anymore. That would be unethical because of the testimony that Costello gave.”
“Or he could say, ‘look, I have to drop the case.’ He may not be able to make it without Cohen. But if he can’t make it without Cohen, he can’t make it.”
We don’t know for sure if Costello’s testimony is what caused the delay [or possible reversal] in Trump’s arrest, but the decision to delay came the very next day.
