SEDITIOUS CONSPIRACY

The Department of Justice charged a man named Stuart Rhodes, the founder of the right-wing Oath Keepers militia group, and 10 accomplices, with “seditious conspiracy” related to the January 6 capitol riot. CNN called it a “landmark sedition indictment.”
The media want this arrest to validate their year-long crusade to convince Americans that Donald Trump incited his supporters to foment an “INSURRECTION.” But a closer look at these charges does more to dismantle their argument than build it up…
Two things you need to know about these charges:
1. “Seditious conspiracy” sounds extreme, but as Mark Levin pointed out on his radio show last night, there are different parts of the ‘seditious conspiracy’ statute in our law.
What they want you to think: The type of ‘seditious conspiracy’ that the media wants you to associate this with is the more scandalous part of the statute: “to conspire to overthrow, put down, or to destroy by force the Government of the United States, or to levy war against them”
The actual charges: The DOJ cited the Oath Keeper’s desire to oppose or delay the execution of a law. Essentially, their riot got in the way of Congress doing its job.
2. The charges exonerate Donald Trump from accusations that he encouraged his supporters to riot. The DOJ charging documents include text messages that Rhodes sent to fellow Oath Keepers during the riot:
“All I see Trump doing is complaining. I see no intent by him to do anything. So the patriots are taking it into their own hands. They’ve had enough.”
Case closed. This one text message proves the entire January 6 committee investigation targeting Trump is a sham.
