Is It Time to Reclaim Pride from the Radical Left?

Imagine walking into a community event expecting a celebration of unity and equality, only to find it overshadowed by extreme displays that don’t represent your values. This is the experience many have had with recent Pride events, leading to a call for change.

 

The Shift in Pride Events:

Pride Month was established to honor the struggle for LGBTQ+ rights and to celebrate the progress made towards equality. However, recent events have seen a shift towards more radical expressions that some feel misrepresent the community. These displays can alienate individuals who seek to celebrate Pride in a manner consistent with dignity and respect.

For far too long, the radical left has been allowed to hijack Pride Month, turning it into a platform for fringe ideologies and vulgar public displays that don’t represent the values or dignity of the LGBTQ+ community as a whole. They’ve used Pride as a vehicle for extreme political messaging, overshadowing the true meaning of the movement: a fight for equality, liberty, and the right to live our lives as we choose.

It’s time for us to say: enough is enough. We’re not going to tolerate them making us look bad any longer. Pride isn’t supposed to be about twerking in the streets in barely-there outfits, forcing radical gender ideologies on children, or shaming those of us who still believe in family-friendly events. Pride is about showing the world that we’re here, that we deserve equal treatment under the law, and that we’re proud of our contributions to society.

 

The Call to #TakeBackPride:

Peter Boykin, founder of Gays for Trump and a constitutionalist for liberty, emphasizes the need to reclaim Pride Month. He advocates for a return to the core values of Pride: equality, dignity, and unity. This movement isn’t about exclusion but about ensuring that Pride events are inclusive and respectful to all members of the community.

That’s why we at #GaysForTrump are calling on everyone to #TakeBackPride. It’s not just a slogan, it’s a mission. We must stand up and reclaim the voice of the gay community from those who have twisted it into a carnival of shock value and political extremism.

We’re done letting the left use our identity as a pawn in their games. We’re done letting them push a narrative that doesn’t reflect who we are: responsible, hard-working, freedom-loving Americans who happen to be LGBTQ+. We’re here to remind people that our community is diverse, not everyone on the left speaks for us, and not everyone in the LGBTQ+ movement wants to see Pride turned into a circus.

 

A Call to Action:

So, what can we do?

✅ Speak Out – Don’t be afraid to challenge the radical narratives and say publicly what so many of us are thinking: “This doesn’t represent me.”

✅ Support Family-Friendly Events – Seek out and support Pride events that honor our history without going over the top.

✅ Challenge Misinformation – Whether it’s online or in conversation, push back against the lie that all gay people are liberals or that we’re all fine with what’s become of Pride.

✅ Build Community – Connect with others who share your values. Together, we can show that Pride can be proud again, without the extremes.

We’re not just fighting back against the misinformation. We’re fighting for the soul of our community and for our place in the American story. We’re here, we’re gay, and we’re not going to let the left define us.
