⏰ Musk reinstates Trump

Elon Musk, in his new role as Twitter CEO, reinstated former President Trump’s account, after conducting a poll that garnered over 15 million votes.

Back up: Trump’s account has been suspended since two days after the January 6 riot in 2020.

The details: On Friday evening Nov 18, 2922, Musk tweeted his poll with a caption:

“Reinstate former President Trump”.

By the time the poll closed, it received 15,085,458 votes:

51.8% said yes

48.2% said no

Reinstatement: Musk followed up the poll by tweeting:

“The people have spoken. Trump will be reinstated. Vox Populi, Vox Dei.”

“Vox Populi, Vox Dei” translates to “the voice of the people is the voice of God.”

Almost immediately, Trump’s account was back online.

Trump responded: Hours before Musk’s poll closed, Trump suggested that he still has no interest in re-joining if his account is reinstated, saying:

“I don’t see any reason for it… Truth Social is taking the place for a lot of people and I don’t see them going back onto Twitter.”

More reinstatements: In addition to Trump, the accounts of Kanye West, Andrew Tate, Jordan Peterson, the Babylon Bee, Kathie Griffin, and Project Veritas have all been reactivated, and now he has a new poll up where he just might reinstate everyone that was suspended unless they committed crimes or was a massive spammer.
