Behind the façade of seemingly spontaneous pro-Palestine protests sweeping across U.S. college campuses lies a meticulously orchestrated web of funding orchestrated by Democrat mega-donor George Soros and his network of organizations.
As demonstrations erupted at Columbia University and subsequently spread to prestigious institutions like Harvard, Yale, and Berkeley, questions arose about the origins and motivations behind the fervent activism.
At the forefront of these protests are two key organizations, both beneficiaries of Soros’ largesse. Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) has been instrumental in orchestrating campus tent city protests, while the US Campaign for Palestinian Rights (USCPR) has been actively recruiting and compensating “fellows” to spearhead these efforts.
Delving deeper into USCPR’s financial ties reveals significant funding injections from Soros’ Open Society Foundations and the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, totaling hundreds of thousands of dollars. These funds are channeled into paying community-based fellows handsomely for their activism, with some receiving up to $7,800.
The allure of such compensation is augmented by the lavish amenities provided to protestors, including tents, gourmet food deliveries, and coffee, creating an environment conducive to sustained activism.
At the heart of these protests lies a demand for universities to condemn Israel’s operations in Gaza and sever financial ties with the country. However, critics point to the prevalence of antisemitic chants and the harassment of Jewish students, raising concerns about the true agenda driving these demonstrations.
The political ramifications of these protests extend beyond campus grounds, posing a challenge for President Joe Biden as he navigates the delicate balance between supporting Israel and appeasing the burgeoning anti-Israel sentiment among young voters and Arab-Americans.
Biden’s attempt to tread a middle ground has only served to exacerbate tensions within the Democratic Party, providing Republicans with a political advantage. As Democrats grapple with internal discord, Republicans stand to benefit politically, capitalizing on the opportunity to bolster their position by allowing their opponents to self-destruct.
As the debate rages on, the nexus between Soros’ funding and campus activism casts a revealing light on the intricate dynamics shaping the discourse surrounding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
