Unveiling the Green Curtain as China Covertly Influences U.S. Climate Policies
A U.S. nonprofit, ostensibly advocating for radical climate change policies, has been exposed for its “significant” ties to China and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
Although officially based in San Francisco, the Energy Foundation’s tax filings, scrutinized by Fox News Digital, disclose a different story. Referred to as “Energy Foundation China,” it operates predominantly from the heart of Beijing, China.
Energy Foundation China’s recent investments of $3.8 million in initiatives like phasing out coal and promoting electric transportation have raised eyebrows. Notably, the Rocky Mountain Institute, a Colorado think tank, emerged as one of the largest beneficiaries, receiving a hefty $900,000. This organization, closely associated with the Chinese front group, has actively lobbied the Biden administration on climate policies, advocating for reduced reliance on fossil fuels. It also published a study that Democrats have seized upon to call for the prohibition of gas-powered stovetops.
In the broader context, the push for green energy entails significant risks for the U.S. First, it leaves critical infrastructure, including the power grid, transportation system, and military, more susceptible to attacks. Second, it deepens the nation’s dependence on China, a dominant force in the market for green components such as semiconductor chips, solar panels, and electric vehicles.
The link to the Biden regime becomes apparent through Gina McCarthy, a member of the Energy Foundation’s board of directors. McCarthy, formerly Joe Biden’s National Climate Advisor, raises concerns about the potential influence peddling within the administration.
Tom Pyle, president of the Institute for Energy Research, issues a stark warning: “We are the richest energy nation in the world with respect to coal, oil, and natural gas. And yet the Biden administration and the environmentalists fueled by China are promoting policies that would increase our dependence on China, which controls all the minerals and materials needed for batteries and wind and solar.”
As the green agenda unfolds, the nation grapples not only with environmental considerations but also with the intricate web of global politics and potential vulnerabilities tied to foreign influence.
