ZELENSKYY CRASHES THE G7 SUMMIT
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy attended the G7 Summit in Japan to lobby world leaders for more support in their war with Russia and secured a major commitment from the Biden regime on F-16 fighter jets.
The G7 Summit is an annual meeting of leaders from seven major economies [the U.S., Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and the U.K.] aimed at addressing global economic and political challenges.
What is Zelenskyy asking for? He pushed for more financial assistance, weapons, and sanctions against Russia. But the big ask has been for American-made F-16 fighter jets:
Poland and France have previously expressed their willingness to hand over the advanced jets to the Ukrainians.
Biden, in a reverse from his previous stance, signaled his support for Ukrainians receiving F-16s and committed to helping Ukrainians learn to operate the high-tech jets.
Biden claims he has a “flat assurance from Zelenskyy” that the jets would only be used for the defense of Ukrainian territory.
Donald Trump responded to the F-16 news on Truth Social, saying: “Biden continues to bring the world ever closer to nuclear war.”
The fight for control of Bakhmut: The city was believed to have fallen into the hands of Russian forces, after a months-long Ukrainian effort to repel Vladimir Putin’s forces.
Speaking at the G7 Zelenskyy sort of refuted this claim, saying the city “Bakhmut is not occupied by the Russian Federation.”
Since the war began, Putin has stated his intention to “liberate” the eastern region of Ukraine known as the Donbas, which is located along the border with Russia.
Dolla dolla bill y’all: Biden also committed another $375 million in military support to Ukraine, which brings the grand total of gifted U.S. taxpayer dollars since the beginning of the war to $114 billion.
