Joe Biden has humiliated the United States AGAIN. His administration gambled that weak sanctions on Vladimir Putin would deter him from invading Ukraine.
He was wrong.
So now Biden claims “no-one expected sanctions to prevent anything from happening.”
Fact check: That claim by Biden is a lie.
Many members of his regime said otherwise just days ago:
V.P. Kamal Harris: “The purpose of the sanctions has always been, and continues to be deterrence.”
Jake Sullivan, National Security Advisor: “The president believes that sanctions are intended to deter.”
Antony Blinken, Secretary of State: “As to the sanctions, the most important thing we can do is to use them as a deterrent.”
