BIDEN TAKES AIM AT SECOND AMENDMENT

Joe Biden announced a wide range of new regulations to restrict Americans’ Second Amendment rights. Speaking in the Rose Garden yesterday, Biden announced his plan to clamp down what he calls ‘ghost guns.’

Normal people call them ‘gun kits’ but Biden wants it to sound scarier for Americans.

Under Biden’s order: gun kits would be reclassified as ‘firearms’ under the Gun Control Act.

That means:

Manufacturers will have to be federally licensed

Each kit will need a serial number

Buyers will need a background check

Rep. Thomas Massie blasted the move as unconstitutional: “The Constitution does not authorize the federal government to prevent you from making your own firearm. This a fact that has been recognized for 200+ years. Also, Article 1, Section 1 (literally the first operative sentence in the Constitution) says Congress makes law, not POTUS!”

Biden pushed for wider gun control in his speech, saying: “We need Congress to pass universal background checks, universal background checks, and I know it’s controversial but I got it done once, ban assault weapons and high capacity magazines.”

Big picture: The Biden regime is feeling pressure to address rising violence across the country, due in large part to Democrat, soft-on-crime policies like no-bail laws.

…but you don’t keep Americans safe by restricting their ability to protect themselves.

Rep. Massie addressed this, saying: “Joe Biden says criminals manufacture guns to avoid traceability. In reality, it’s always been much easier to grind serial numbers off a functioning gun than it is to make a reliable gun.”

If this is the issue Biden and the Democrats want to have on their head going into the midterm elections, be my guest. 5.1 million Americans bought guns for the first time in 2021. Americans want criminal control. Not gun control.
