Yes, the legislation is dangerous. Yes, it’s an example of overreach. But let’s get one thing straight — this is not the fault of all transgender individuals. The true blame lies with far-left extremist lawmakers pushing these divisive policies as part of an agenda to silence dissent and consolidate political control. This is not about LGBTQ rights — this is about authoritarianism cloaked in tolerance.
What the Law Actually Says:
House Bill 25-1312: The “Kelly Loving Act”
This proposed legislation includes a provision that categorizes a parent’s refusal to use a child’s self-identified name or gender as a form of “coercive control.” In plain language: if a parent calls their child by their legal name and biological pronouns, that could be used against them in court as grounds to limit custody. That’s not support — that’s coercion of the parent by the state.
Weaponizing Identity to Silence Parents
Let’s not kid ourselves — this isn’t about respecting identity anymore. It’s about controlling speech and redefining family authority. The state is intruding on the sacred bond between parents and children, and any dissent is met with accusations of being hateful, bigoted, or — as some liberal activists like to say — “Nazis” or “KKK.”

When we generalize and blame entire groups — whether it’s trans people, gay people, Christians, conservatives, or anyone else — we destroy the very foundation of our Constitutional Republic: individual liberty and personal responsibility.
The truth? Transgender individuals make up less than 1% of the population. And of that small group, only a tiny fraction are advocating for these extreme, anti-parent laws. Yet because of radical Democrats, the entire group gets painted with the same brush. That’s not justice — that’s scapegoating.
Imagine if we replaced “T” with “Jews,” “Blacks,” “Christians,” or any other group. That kind of rhetoric would rightfully be called dangerous. It’s no different here.
The Left Isn’t the Only Problem — The Radical Right is Guilty Too
Let’s also be honest: this kind of authoritarian pendulum swing happens both ways. In some red states, radical right-wing legislators shut down LGBTQ discussions, censor books, or make it harder for people to get healthcare. The left does it with pronoun laws and indoctrination. The right does it with bans and thought policing. Both extremes destroy public trust, polarize communities, and prevent compromise.
And what suffers most when we stop listening?
“We the People.”

In the Colorado news stories circulating, not once was a transgender individual interviewed to represent their own views — nor were parents, religious leaders, or medical professionals given equal voice. Instead, we get one-sided narratives shaped by leftist activists in government, designed to end conversations, not encourage them.
This is what happens when one radical sector of a political party takes over. Colorado is a prime example. But this is happening in more places than you think — and not always on the left.
What’s at Stake: Our Liberty, Our Constitution, Our Future
Parental rights. LGBTQ dignity. The right to disagree without being criminalized. The ability for a society to speak freely without fear of legal persecution. These are all on the line. Social issues like gender, abortion, and religion are constantly weaponized by both political extremes to create power vacuums, to stir outrage, and to divide us.
And when we’re divided, liberty and the Constitution get trampled. This isn’t just about Colorado — it’s about the soul of our Constitutional Republic.

I see a lot of people, especially from my fellow right-wing and gay community, reacting to these developments by saying things like, “Oh my God, the T has to go!” I understand why that might be an initial reaction, but we must recognize that this is not the fault of all transgender people. This is the result of ultra-left extremists pushing radical laws.
What we’re seeing is the left using their majority status to shut down conversation with the right entirely. It’s no longer about dialogue — it’s about dominance. It’s shocking to see the leftist liberal agenda labeling parental rights groups, especially those that lean conservative, as Nazis or members of the KKK. This type of rhetoric signals a serious breakdown in both government and society. When our government can’t compromise or even have civil discussions, “We the People” suffer.
Not once interviewed in the referenced news story feature a transgender person. Nor did it present multiple perspectives. This is what happens when one radical faction of a political party takes control — as we’re witnessing in Colorado. I warn that similar trends are taking place elsewhere, where the pendulum swings in the opposite direction and radical right-wing voices also shut down meaningful conversations.
Parental rights, LGBTQ issues, and abortion are social topics that radicals on both sides exploit to manipulate their political bases, stir up conflict, and create power vacuums. In doing so, they ignore liberty and undermine the Constitution.
Blaming “the T,” or “the gays,” or “the straights,” or any group as a whole is not the answer. That kind of generalization is dangerous and dismisses the diversity of thought within each community. There are individuals within every group — including the trans community — who do not support these radical laws.
As for the transgender individuals being blamed for Colorado’s extremist legislation about pronouns and “deadnaming” children, let’s be clear: transgender people make up less than 1% of the population. And among that already small number, only a tiny fraction supports such extreme policies. Yet instead of recognizing that nuance, many people are jumping to say, “The Ts have got to go.”
Imagine the outrage if that statement were aimed at Jews, Black Americans, Christians, or any other community. It would be unacceptable — and it should be just as unacceptable here.
Let’s Talk About It – Not Silence Each Other
This is your call to engage, not to rage blindly. Stand firm in your values, speak with truth, and demand accountability from lawmakers. But don’t fall for the trap of group blame. The enemy is extremism, not identity.
