President Trump posted the following message on Truth Social:

“FIRST COME THE TANKS, THEN COME THE NUKES. Get this crazy war ended, NOW. So easy to do!”

It was a reaction to the news that current President Joe Biden plans to send 31 M1 Abrams tanks to Ukraine to aid in their war effort against Russia.

…and despite the ALL CAPS rage-tweet, Trump is correctly observing the slow, but steady escalation that’s taken place over the past year.

Now Ukraine is eyeing F-16 fighter jets: Joe Biden didn’t even finish putting wrapping paper on the 31 M1 tanks before Ukraine escalated to their next request: F-16 fighter jets.

According to The Hill:

“Ukraine will now push for F-16 fighter jets” with a top Ukrainian defense advisor saying: “We will do everything possible to ensure Ukraine gets fourth-generation fighter jets as soon as possible.”

Biden’s national security adviser John Kirby responded by saying the U.S. is “in constant discussions” with Ukraine and “we evolve those as the conditions change.”

Ramping up production: More telling than the words of the Biden administration are the actions of Lockheed Martin, the defense contractor that makes the F-16s.

According to the Financial Times:

Lockheed’s Chief Operating officer says the company is “going to be ramping production on F-16s” due to the potential transfer of U.S. F-16s to Ukraine.

…do you think one of the biggest defense contractors in the world is going to ramp up production of a $60 million fighter jet without a guarantee that they have a buyer?

The slow and steady escalation from defensive weapons to tanks to fighter jets… with every step forward, we get closer to the U.S. at war with a nuclear Russia. Which is what Trump is warning about. He sees the trajectory that Biden is taking us on.
