Joe Biden’s border charade
In a recent move, President Joe Biden announced an executive order purportedly aimed at curbing the flow of illegal aliens across our southern border. However, upon closer examination, this order still facilitates the entry of nearly 2 million individuals into the United States each year, raising serious concerns about its effectiveness and sincerity.
The Executive Order Details
Biden’s order stipulates that illegal aliens will be barred from claiming asylum if border crossings exceed 2,500 per day for seven consecutive days. However, significant loopholes undermine this claim:
Loophole for Legitimate Threats: The order exempts anyone claiming a legitimate threat if they return to their home country, a provision ripe for abuse.
Exemption for Minors: The order also exempts minors, potentially emboldening child traffickers.
The Numbers Behind the Policy
Even if we take the order at face value, it still permits 912,500 illegal aliens per year. This figure is in addition to:
– 529,000 admitted annually through Biden’s legally questionable CBP One app.
– 360,000 annually through his asylum parole scheme.
This brings the total to approximately 1.8 million illegal aliens per year under Biden’s so-called crackdown.
Context and Historical Actions
Upon taking office, Biden halted the construction of the border wall and terminated former President Donald Trump’s ‘Remain in Mexico’ policy. Consequently, fiscal year 2023 saw a record-breaking 3.2 million illegal alien encounters at the border, the highest in history.
Political Maneuvering
In his speech, Biden claimed he was “moving past Republican obstruction” to address a border crisis of his own making. Notably, he did not take questions from the press, an action that critics argue reflects a lack of transparency and accountability. This sudden policy shift comes just months before an election, with more than 10 million illegal aliens having entered the country since Biden took office, a number that some estimate may be approaching 15 million.
Criticism from All Sides
From the Right: Representative Chip Roy criticized Biden, stating, “Biden’s trying to appear tough on immigration because he’s losing ground in the polls. Remember, he’s already let in over 10 million illegal aliens, and his new executive order will likely lead to at least 1.5 million more illegal crossings in the next year.”
From the Left: The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), typically aligned with Democrats, has vowed to challenge the order in court, arguing it “will severely restrict people’s legal right to seek asylum.”
Public Opinion
A recent poll indicates that 46% of voters trust Trump to handle the border crisis more effectively than Biden, who garnered only 26% support.

Former President Donald Trump issued a statement condemning Biden’s policies: “The border invasion and migrant crime will not stop until Crooked Joe Biden is deported from the White House.”
