Let me start with a story. Picture a captain steering a ship through a storm, the seas raging around him, his crew looking for guidance. Now imagine that in the midst of it all, one of his officers, with no real authority in the situation, grabs a microphone and makes it all about themselves. That’s exactly what Kamala Harris just did while Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and President Joe Biden were focused on saving lives after a deadly hurricane. Harris turned the storm into a political sideshow. Let’s dig deeper into the story and others in today’s breakdown.
Welcome to #GoRight with Peter Boykin—your go-to podcast where we dive deep into the issues that matter most, all from the perspective of liberty, individual responsibility, and the defense of our Constitutional Republic. We’re here to bring you the truth, to stand up for conservative values, and to challenge the mainstream narrative.

So, if you believe in freedom, in the Constitution, and in putting America first, you’re in the right place.
Let’s #GoRight!
Let’s dive deeper into each of today’s headlines with full context, facts, and a breakdown of what’s really going on, all from the Constitutionalist viewpoint that values liberty and the principles that founded our Constitutional Republic.

The first story is a perfect snapshot of what’s wrong with how some leaders in Washington D.C. play politics. Kamala Harris, the Vice President of the United States, recently drew heavy criticism after using a devastating hurricane in Florida as a backdrop to boost her political image. While Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and President Joe Biden worked together to manage the recovery, Harris decided to turn the focus onto herself, accusing DeSantis of playing “political games” during a time of crisis.
Here’s what really happened. After Hurricane Helene ravaged Florida, Kamala Harris reached out to Governor DeSantis to discuss storm recovery efforts. The timing was odd, as DeSantis and his team had already been working around the clock to address the destruction caused by the storm. Harris then publicly accused DeSantis of playing “political games,” calling his response “irresponsible and selfish.”
But the blowback was swift. President Joe Biden, during a press briefing, directly contradicted his Vice President. Biden stated that DeSantis had been cooperative throughout the disaster response, adding, “He’s gotten all that he needs… No, you’re doing a great job.”
Governor DeSantis took the high road, appearing on Fox & Friends to make it clear that his focus was on the people of Florida, not political mudslinging. In a calm but pointed response, he said, “It’s not about you, Kamala. It’s about the people of Florida.” DeSantis also noted that Harris had no role in the disaster recovery chain of command, and that she had never called in previous storms. The Florida Governor emphasized that both President Trump and President Biden worked without politicizing such tragedies, drawing a clear line between their actions and Harris’s opportunism.
This highlights a stark reality: While Harris is busy seeking attention, our Constitutional Republic depends on cooperation, especially during a crisis. The focus must always remain on protecting American citizens, not political posturing.

In a surprising twist, President Joe Biden has reportedly pointed the finger at former President Barack Obama for the ongoing war in Ukraine. According to an upcoming book by veteran journalist Bob Woodward, Biden privately blames Obama for mishandling the 2014 Crimea annexation by Russia. The book alleges that Biden criticized Obama’s response, saying he “f*cked up in 2014,” allowing Russian President Vladimir Putin to make bold moves that set the stage for the current conflict.
Let’s unpack this. In 2014, under Obama’s watch, Russia invaded and annexed Crimea with very little international pushback. The Obama administration’s failure to impose harsh sanctions or provide Ukraine with significant military aid has been criticized ever since. Many believe that this perceived weakness emboldened Putin, leading to the full-scale invasion of Ukraine in recent years.
While it’s rare for a sitting president to openly criticize his former boss, this revelation sheds light on the internal frustrations within the Democratic leadership. Biden’s own handling of the Ukraine war has been under scrutiny, with critics arguing that U.S. foreign policy continues to appear weak, especially in the face of authoritarian regimes like Russia’s.
This situation underscores a critical point: America must always project strength on the world stage. Our Constitutional Republic is built on defending freedom, not just at home but also abroad, where global security often hinges on U.S. leadership. Weakness, hesitation, or a failure to act decisively only invites further aggression.

In a shift that could shape the political future of our nation, a recent study shows that 26% of young voters aged 18 to 24 are leaning toward conservative, right-leaning politics, while 22% lean left. This may come as a surprise to many, given the cultural dominance of leftist ideology in media, education, and entertainment. But the data is clear: young people are increasingly embracing the ideals of liberty, free markets, and limited government.
Why is this shift happening? The economic hardships facing young Americans today—high inflation, an unstable job market, and rising debt—have driven many to question the policies of the current administration. Millennials and Gen Z, once seen as solidly progressive, are now more open to conservative ideas like individual responsibility, entrepreneurship, and protecting Constitutional freedoms.
The significance of this cannot be overstated. For years, the left has assumed they had the youth vote locked down. But now, young people are seeing firsthand the failures of big government and realizing that the promise of endless entitlements and government control comes at the cost of personal liberty and prosperity.
As we move toward the next election, this emerging trend could have a profound impact on political outcomes. If the right can continue to communicate a message of freedom and opportunity, we could see a new generation of voters standing up for the principles that make America exceptional.

Now, onto the border crisis. A staggering 945,370 foreigners sought asylum in the United States in a single year, a record high that has overwhelmed our immigration system and led to serious consequences for our nation’s safety and stability. This flood of asylum seekers is just one aspect of the broader immigration issue that has spiraled out of control under the current administration’s policies.
Open-border policies have led to chaos, not only in terms of resources but also in human lives. Tragic stories like the murder of Laken Riley by an illegal immigrant remind us that there are real consequences when we fail to enforce the law and secure our borders. The Constitution charges the federal government with protecting our borders, but this administration’s unwillingness to do so has resulted in untold damage to communities across the country.
Beyond the immediate dangers, the influx of nearly one million asylum seekers has stretched our legal system to the breaking point, making it nearly impossible to manage legitimate claims and ensure that those who truly need asylum are being helped. Instead, we are witnessing a broken system being exploited, while hardworking Americans bear the brunt of the economic and social costs.
The solution is simple: secure the border, enforce the law, and ensure that immigration is orderly and legal. Our Constitutional Republic was built on the rule of law, and it’s time we return to those founding principles when it comes to immigration.

Lastly, we turn again to Vice President Kamala Harris. According to a CNN poll, the number of voters who associate Harris with the words “lying” or “lie” has jumped from 3% to 9%. That’s a threefold increase in people who see Harris as dishonest, reflecting a growing mistrust in her leadership and transparency.
Harris has been consistently criticized for her evasive answers, particularly on issues like the border crisis and her role in the administration. Her public appearances, often marked by awkward laughter and avoidance of tough questions, have done little to inspire confidence. The Vice President’s handling of her duties, coupled with her disconnection from key issues, has made her one of the least liked VPs in recent history.
In a Constitutional Republic, trust in leadership is paramount. When public officials are seen as dishonest or disconnected from the people, it erodes faith in government and weakens our system of self-governance. Kamala Harris’s deteriorating public image is just one more example of the disconnect between Washington elites and everyday Americans.
—
Kamala Harris turned a deadly hurricane into a political spectacle, but Biden and DeSantis kept their focus on the people. Meanwhile, Biden blames Obama for Ukraine’s woes, revealing cracks in Democratic leadership. Young voters are increasingly embracing conservative values, a hopeful sign for our Constitutional Republic. The border crisis continues to escalate, with a record number of asylum seekers, and Harris’s public trust rating continues to plummet as more Americans associate her with dishonesty.
