A U.S. Secret Service (USSS) sniper has raised alarms within the agency, predicting a potential second assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump. The sniper’s concerns were conveyed through an email that criticized the agency’s leadership and highlighted vulnerabilities in protecting high-profile leaders.
The Email’s Details
The email, verified by law enforcement sources and first reported by the NY Post, was addressed to the agency’s Uniformed Division. The sniper expressed frustration over the current state of the Secret Service, warning: “This agency NEEDS to change. If not now, WHEN? The NEXT assassination in 30 days?” He further emphasized, “We all SHOULD expect another attempt to happen before November. We’ve exposed our inability to protect our leaders due to our leadership.”
The sniper also mentioned a desire for accountability within the agency, stating, “I’m not stopping until 5 high-level supervisors (1 down) are either fired or removed from their current positions.” This appears to reference the recent resignation of USSS Director Kimberly Cheatle.
Leadership Criticized
The email criticized the USSS leadership, particularly in response to a recent incident in Butler, PA, which the sniper described as a failure on the part of the supervisors. He wrote, “The technicians who worked DID THEIR JOB with their hands tied. Secret Service SUPERVISORS ‘knew better,’ and the foot soldiers working made the best of a BAD situation…” This suggests that the leadership’s decisions may have compromised the agency’s effectiveness.
Deletion of the Email
According to RealClearPolitics, the agency reportedly deleted the email from its systems, raising concerns about transparency and accountability within the USSS.
The sniper concluded his email with a sharp critique, stating, “The motto of the USSS… CYA. And every supervisor is doing it right now.”
