Biden puts another MAGA voice in jail

Steve Bannon, former Trump campaign manager and current host of the War Room show, has been ordered to report to jail for refusing to comply with a Democrat-controlled January 6 Committee subpoena. Bannon must serve his sentence following a charge of contempt of Congress issued in 2021, which he received for not cooperating with the committee.

Bannon argues his actions were lawful, as President Trump had invoked executive privilege, shielding members of his administration from being compelled by the committee. His lawyer has detailed this defense, asserting that Bannon was within his rights.

Outside the D.C. courthouse, Bannon proclaimed: “This is about shutting down the MAGA movement. Shutting down grassroots conservatives. Shutting down President Trump… There’s not a prison built… that will ever shut me up.”

Bannon’s four-month sentence aims to silence a prominent MAGA voice during a critical election cycle, raising concerns about the selective use of justice. Former President Donald Trump expressed his outrage on Truth Social, calling it “a Total and Complete American Tragedy” and accusing the Biden administration of a partisan effort to imprison Republicans who resist the “Unselect Committee of Political Thugs.”

There appears to be a double standard in the application of justice. Hunter Biden and Attorney General Merrick Garland have both ignored Congressional subpoenas without facing contempt charges. This discrepancy is further highlighted by the case of former Obama AG Eric Holder, who was held in contempt in 2014 but was not prosecuted.

This situation underscores what many see as a pattern of judicial overreach by Democrats to target individuals associated with Trump. Former Trump advisor Peter Navarro is currently imprisoned for defying a similar subpoena, and Alex Jones faces the liquidation of his assets, threatening the existence of his daily broadcast studio. Additionally, Donald Trump himself has been subjected to four federal indictments.

The treatment of Bannon and others involved in the MAGA movement suggests a concerning trend of using the judicial system to stifle political dissent in our Constitutional Republic, where the rule of law must protect the integrity of our democratic processes.
