Strong Enforcement Still Needs Due Process
Deportation Power Is Back Before the Supreme Court
The Supreme Court temporarily allowed the Trump administration to resume certain third-country deportations while the underlying legal dispute continues.
The policy permits removal of some migrants to countries other than their own, while challengers argue people need a meaningful opportunity to show they could face persecution or torture there.
The emergency order is significant.
It is not the final constitutional ruling.
Liberty Requires Both Enforcement and Process

If someone has no legal right to remain in the United States, government should be able to enforce immigration law.
At the same time, sending someone to a completely different country raises a legitimate due-process question when there is credible evidence that the destination could mean persecution or torture.
Strong borders and strong civil liberties are not opposites.
The Constitution gets the last word.
The same standard should apply when Congress investigates prosecutorial power.
Oversight is legitimate.
Accountability should never become revenge.
Artificial intelligence presents another version of the same challenge.
Innovation matters.
So do transparent rules and individual rights.
Enforcement Without Process Is Just Power
Liberty is not choosing between enforcement and rights.
It is demanding both.
Enforce immigration law.
Investigate government misconduct.
Keep America technologically competitive.
But insist that every exercise of government power comes with process, evidence and an identifiable constitutional boundary.
Power Needs Process.
