Ukraine’s Minerals Deal and America’s Involvement
Ukraine has expressed its willingness to work with the United States on a minerals agreement that would allow greater U.S. business influence within Ukraine. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha stated that the deal would contribute to Ukraine’s security and economic development.
At the heart of this deal is the question of repayment: profits from a fund controlling Ukraine’s natural resources would be used to pay back the United States for wartime aid—with interest. Some Ukrainian officials have raised concerns that such a deal could complicate the country’s ambitions to join the European Union. President Volodymyr Zelensky has not yet made a final decision on the renegotiated terms.
Former President Donald Trump has weighed in, accusing Zelensky of attempting to back out of the agreement. Trump emphasized that the deal is a form of repayment for the substantial aid that American taxpayers have sent to Ukraine. He also took aim at Russian President Vladimir Putin, criticizing the delays in cease-fire negotiations and threatening to impose tariffs on Russian oil to push for peace.
Meanwhile, inside the U.S., the debate over continued aid to Ukraine is causing a rift within the Republican Party. Some GOP members, like Representative Don Bacon of Nebraska, argue that America must continue to support Ukraine as a champion of freedom. Others believe that pouring billions into a war without a clear exit strategy is not in America’s best interest.

Preventing BRICS Expansion – A prolonged war only strengthens Russia and China, drawing the U.S. further into economic strain. A peace deal would help cut off Russia’s ability to escalate Cold War-style tensions.
Ukraine’s Best Option is Peace – Ukraine is losing troops and resources at an unsustainable rate. A negotiated settlement would ensure Ukraine’s survival while preventing an endless drain on American support.
Trump’s position is clear: “I support Ukraine’s sovereignty, but I don’t support endless war.” This keeps the focus on American interests rather than allowing the left to misrepresent his position as being “pro-Putin.” The reality is that America is engaged in a proxy war that benefits China while weakening the West. A smart, strong America does not allow itself to be played into perpetual warfare.
America First: A Path Forward
The path forward requires a renewed focus on America’s core values—economic prosperity, national security, and individual liberty. Instead of endless foreign entanglements, we must prioritize rebuilding our economy, securing our borders, and protecting American jobs. The fight for America’s priorities is far from over, but with strong leadership and a commitment to constitutional principles, victory is within reach.
The question remains: Will we continue to sacrifice American interests for globalist agendas, or will we take back control of our nation’s future? The choice is ours to make.
