This story is so ridiculous that I had to triple-check to make sure it was real…

U.K. scientists want to put face masks on cows in order to save the planet from climate change – an idea that has the blessing of Prince Charles.

The details: The masks, created by a tech startup named Zelp, are fitting around the cow’s nose and are supposed to catch the methane emitted by cows’ burps. The device then converts the methane back into water and carbon dioxide.

AOC deserves some credit: While this is a U.K. endeavor, our very own Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was the first to mainstream the [apparent] climate issue caused by cows. When she rolled out her Green New Deal in 2019, her resolution infamously said:

“We set a goal to get to net-zero, rather than zero, emissions in 10 years because we aren’t sure that we’ll be able to fully get rid of farting cows and airplanes that fast.”

She was [rightly] ridiculed for it, but I guess the idea lives on thanks to mother England.

The Zelp device won a £50,000 prize, which was judged by a panel that included Charles, the Prince of Whales who called the device “fascinating.”

Conservative pundit Ian Miles Cheong commented on Twitter: “This is not a parody. The British are now putting gimp masks on cows to save the environment by constricting their breath.”

I’d normally skip over a story like this, but it’s Friday and we can all use a good laugh.
