Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell has finally announced his plan to relinquish his position in November, bowing out amid intensifying demands for his removal over what many perceive as poor leadership and a failure to champion issues dear to Republican voters.

In a recent address on the Senate floor, McConnell conceded, “Father time remains undefeated… It’s time for the next generation.” He elaborated that he would fulfill the remaining three years of his term outside the leadership role.

However, let’s be blunt about it – Mitch’s days as the GOP leader were numbered. His priorities no longer resonate with the majority of Republican voters.
