The Far Left yet again attacks Voter ID
Far Left Persistence Challenges North Carolina’s Voter ID Law
Once more, Far Left activists are gearing up to challenge North Carolina’s Voter ID law, demonstrating a decade-long resistance to a common-sense measure aimed at safeguarding the integrity of our Constitutional Republic’s democracy.
Despite resounding public support, with over 80% of voters endorsing Voter ID, and the democratic will expressed through North Carolina’s constitutional amendment, Far-Left Democrats persist in their efforts to undermine it. It’s worth noting that the bill itself was sponsored by an African-American Democrat in the General Assembly, adding to its bipartisan legitimacy.
Moreover, Voter ID has already been successfully implemented in two elections, demonstrating its feasibility and acceptance among voters. Yet, such empirical evidence seems inconsequential to the obstructionist tendencies of the Far Left.
In the elections where Voter ID was in effect, an overwhelming majority of voters complied with the requirement, with 99.91% and 99.94% respectively showing identification. The negligible proportion of voters resorting to provisional ballots due to ID-related issues further underscores the effectiveness of Voter ID, with only a minute fraction ultimately disqualified.
Despite these facts, the persistence of challenges raises legitimate questions about the motivations behind the Far Left’s crusade against Voter ID. NCGOP Chairman Jason Simmons aptly points out, “Voter ID is settled law. Efforts to undermine it only weaken the integrity and confidence in our elections.” The continuous efforts of plaintiffs, aided by activist judges, serve to undermine the expressed will of the people and erode trust in our electoral processes.
