HOW TO KNOW YOU HAVE OMICRON: A 'SCRATCHY THROAT'

Preliminary data on the omicron variant of Covid is starting to roll in, and one common thread virologists are noticing: many of the people infected have a scratchy throat.

Not a sore throat… A scratchy throat.

Back up: This falls in line with what Dr. Angelique Coetzee, the chair of South Africa’s Medical Association, said last month: that Omicron has “mostly mild symptoms.”

Unlike previous Covid variants, Omicron patients don’t usually report a lost taste or smell, and they do not develop a cough. And as Coetzee observed, symptoms and generally much milder. However, it is highly transmissible.

So liberal states like New York are re-imposing mask mandates because of… ‘a scratchy throat’?
