If a January 6 Committee hearing falls in the woods, but there’s no one there to hear it… Does it make a sound?

The House select committee ‘investigating’ the January 6 riot held its first public hearing in prime time and tried to make its case to the American public that Donald Trump was responsible for the events that unfolded at the Capitol.

3 key moments from the J6 committee hearing:

1️⃣ Opening statement: Rep. Bennie Thompson opened the hearings by saying: “Donald Trump, the President of the United States, spurred a mob of domestic enemies of the constitution [to] march down the Capitol and subvert American democracy.”

A reminder that Trump told the crowd to “peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard.”

2️⃣ Hanging Pence: According to testimony from one of Trump’s aides, when protestors chanted to hang Mike Pence for refusing to challenge the election results, Trump responded “Maybe our supporters have the right idea” and he “deserves it.”

3️⃣ Bill Barr opposed Trump’s election claims: The J6 committee aired closed-door testimony from Trump’s former Attorney General Bill Barr who spoke about Trump’s election challenges, saying, “I told the president it was b******t. I didn’t want to be a part of it.”

They followed that with a video of Ivanka Trump saying, “I respect Attorney General Barr so I accepted what he said.”

The panel has interviewed more than 1,000 witnesses and obtained thousands of hours of video footage. And these were the worst pieces they could present to the American people?
To quote a former President… “Sad”

Political commentator Mike Cernivich summed it up best on Twitter:

“January 6th committee is playing selectively edited clips! Lol. They could have held full public hearings. They didn’t. And they aren’t even releasing the full interviews. That’s not how people who believe that they have a strong case act.”

“Fact is J6 was a bad day. Everyone knows it, but it’s two years later for heck’s sake, it wasn’t 9/11 nor the summer riots. Whatever, keep posting this boring a** sh*t TV while people can’t afford gas. See you a**holes in November!”
