Numerous undocumented individuals flagged as ‘special interest’ cases
In the past two years, leaked Customs and Border Protection (CBP) data reveals that Border Patrol agents apprehended numerous individuals categorized as “special interest aliens” attempting to cross the U.S. southern border. These individuals hail from countries deemed as national security threats, with potential ties to terrorism.
The recorded figures between October 2021 and October 2023 are as follows:
– Syria: 538
– Yemen: 139
– Iran: 659
– Iraq: 123
– Afghanistan: 6,386
– Lebanon: 164
– Egypt: 3,153
– Pakistan: 1,613
– Turkey: 30,830
– Mauritania: 15,594
– Uzbekistan: 13,624
Furthermore, there has been a noticeable surge in individuals on the FBI’s terror watch list attempting illegal border crossings. In 2023 alone, 151 such cases were reported.
These apprehension numbers only represent those who were caught, with CBP estimating that approximately 1.5 million individuals entered the U.S. undetected since Joe Biden assumed office. A recent threat assessment from the Department of Homeland Security highlights the escalating risk of terrorists exploiting the heightened flow and intricate security landscape to enter the United States.
Former President Donald Trump, posting on Truth Social, expressed concerns about the situation, drawing parallels between those entering the U.S. and individuals involved in the raid on Israel. Trump questioned whether these individuals are planning an attack within the country, attributing the situation to the policies of President Joe Biden and his predecessor, Barack Hussein Obama.
